THE PROCESS
Step-By-Step
To help understand the process here is a typical step-by-step example.
- Send us your plans and any Development Approvals you may have to our email address [email protected] and we can quote the job for you.
- Once the quote is accepted we will send a letter of engagement and make a start on the review of the plans against the Building Code of Australia (NCC), the QLD Development Code (QDC) and the local council planning scheme and state government planning.
- A request for further information (RFI) may be sent if any local council requirements need to be met such as boundary clearances, flood overlays etc.
- Once all of the required information in the (RFI) have been met we can issue a Building Permit.
- The Building Permit and all documentation will be sent to you and the local council within 5 business days. Once the Building Permit has been received you can then start the construction process.
- There are mandatory stages of inspection for class 1 and 10 buildings and structures. These will need to be booked by you at the required time by sending a notice of inspection. These inspection stages may also be conditioned on the Building Approval. For certain stages of inspections such as footings and slab a RPEQ engineer can be deemed a competent person for the aspect inspection. This would need to be verified by us before any inspections are to be carried out. You can only move on to the next stage of the build once you receive verification from us to move onto the next stage.
Once all of the stages are complete and the build is at the finished stage you can book a final inspection. We will inspect the build against the approved plans and the Building Code of Australia. Once completed and approved you will receive all of the required documentation and can enjoy your new completed build.
